Recycling Rules

17/18 – Tis the season for holiday joy and recycling woe. As our bins fill, please remember the rules of the game:

• Only recycle plastic items that show a recycling mark;Glassware, batteries, lightbulbs — they all have special bins.

• Don't mix;No greasy paper — and flatten those boxes, people!Avoid "aspirational recycling" — what you hope is recyclable, may not be;

• China, previously America's main customer for recycled material, has stopped buying our junk. As a result, recycling requirements have tightened up.

• Don't guess, don't hope, just know the real rules and follow them, please.
