Parklex Project Finally Finished

01/07/14 – The Parklex replacement project is now complete. At the end of December Spike Builders (successors to now-defunct Axis Construction) finished putting up the final panels in The Vaux courtyard. After years of studies and difficult negotiations with Composites Gurea SA, the work went smoothly and was finished under budget. Everything would have been done last summer, but the defective panel count exceeded initial estimates, and progress was stalled by a long wait for extra material from Spain.

On sunward façades, the new panels are noticeably darker than the originals — but Parklex fades naturally over time, and pretty soon the new panels are expected to blend in nicely.
