Light Returns to Vaux Corridors

11/20/13 – Last February fluorescent bulbs were removed from hallways @ The Vaux in favor of much more efficient LEDs. But within weeks the new bulbs dimmed dramatically, turning our public areas into a dungeon. Now, within the past few days, all that has changed, and corridors are once again bright and cheery.

What happened? Why the big delay in making repairs? Apparently the first batch of LEDs were defective, possibly not up to power specifications, and worse, the company that installed them went out of business. Pursuing a warranty claim became a lengthy process. Finally, a new batch of bulbs arrived. The VOA will still save a lot of money with LEDs, and now we can also see our way around.
